Your child does not have to master these words in a single day! If your child does not remember a sight word as you are reading the story, simply provide it. Plan on mastering sight words over the course of a week or more. Limit the rapid drill time to five minutes. You can also use cards with the sounds you are studying. Any student in first through tenth grade can practice the Fry sight word flashcards for their grade level. Then go through the cards again and say the words together.
